INT. TEN NEWS STUDIO

RYAN: Oh my gosh. I think…I’m…Pam Pam Pamelaaaaaa–

<SFX footsteps running in>

PAM: What’s up Ry? You okay?

RYAN: I think I’m…I’m about to have a brain fart–

PAM: A brain fart–?

<SFX a small, squeaky fart>

RYAN: Yup. There it is.

PAM: Wait, how the heck did your brain just make that sound…?

RYAN: Please don’t question my intelligence. Whoa. I’m having a hard time remembering things.

PAM: Uh oh. We better start the show before you forget everything. I’m Pamela Kirkland.

RYAN: And I’m Ryan Willard? It’s Thursday, May– May I please have the date, Pam?

PAM: It’s Thursday, May 30th. This is the Ten News.

PAM: Summer break is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited.

RYAN: Are you traveling this Summer?

PAM: I am! I’m going to (PAM ADLIB OR MAKEUP)

RYAN: I thought about traveling but I’m not sure about the state of the world. Like, what is even happening around the globe?

PAM: Ahhh, I bet Jamie could give us a little rundown…

JAMIE: (surprising Ryan) Sure, Pam!

RYAN: AHHHHH. Sweet lorax. How long have you been hiding there?

JAMIE: I don’t know, like, 20 minutes?

RYAN: Respect. Can you by chance give us a World News Update?

JAMIE: I’ve been waiting for you to ask…

PAM: Thanks so much, Jamie! This got me even more excited to visit (ADLIB)!

PAM: Winners are often defined by what they do when they fall down. A 16 year old British runner named Maia Heward-Mills recently went viral when she posted a video of herself competing in the hurdles, where she crashes into a hurdle, face plants, loses her shoe, then gets back up and finishes the race. WITH ONE. SHOE. ON. And she WON the race! <SFX: cheering> Check out our show notes if you’d like to see the video, it’s a great reminder why you should never give up!

RYAN: I’m still feeling foggy from that brain fart, Pam.

PAM: Okay Ry, what’s your favorite…food?

RYAN: Pizza. Right? Pizza?

PAM: Yup! And what was your favorite news story this season?

RYAN: I–I—I don’t know!

PAM: This is kind of a problem, since today we’re supposed to recap some of the top news stories from Season 4.

RYAN: Okay, well when I have a problem, I go to my arch enemies for help.

PAM: I think you mean, your friends.

RYAN: Right. I do have friends, right?

PAM: Yes you do. And this friend thinks we should ask the Ten’ers to tell us their favorite news story that happened this school year.

RYAN: That is a tremendous idea!

PAM: Alrighty then. Well, some of you already sent some in.

PAM: Wow, those were great. Keep sending them in Ten’ers!

OWEN: Welcome to the Trivia Room!

JAMIE: Owen! What’s up my dude?

OWEN: Hey Jamie! I loved your segment.

JAMIE: Oh thanks! Could I hop up on the trivia throne?

OWEN: Sure, let’s do it.

OWEN: Since you’re originally from London, I have a London themed question for you today. This may seen like an easy one, but…where is the London Bridge?

Is it…

  1. London of course!

  2. New York, or

  3. Arizona

OWEN: The answer is…<SFX drumroll> A and C! And it’s kinda a trick question. The London Bridge that was built in 1831 was really in danger of falling down in 1962! All of the London traffic was causing the bridge to sink into the Thames River. The London government put the bridge up for sale and a businessman, Robert McCullouch bought it for $2,460,000 and moved it to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It was a huge process to move the bridge and re-assemble it in Arizona. A more modern London Bridge was built in London and opened in 1973.

JAMIE: So interesting.

OWEN: Thanks for playing Jamie!

RYAN: Okay, I actually feel better, I think I know what’s happening in the world.

PAM: Glad the brain fart has passed. It’s been a pretty wild school year!

RYAN: WAIT! Is it time for the Season 4 finale?!?

PAM: Close…but that’s the next episode, Ry.

RYAN: Got it. Is it time for Ten News Snaps…?

PAM: Yup! But first, here’s a quick note for the grownups.

RYAN: Time for Ten News Snaps! <Grand fanfare SFX>

PAM: A Ten’er named Harold 15 said, “I love this podcast, Pam is so great and Ryan super funny, keep killing it.”
